Job Description
The VP, Business Diversification is the enterprise's executive business leader over an aggressive multi-year diversification strategy intended to broaden our product and services portfolio to new customers nationally. This role will be responsible for a diverse, multi-line of business P&L with annual performance goals. The incumbent will develop an enterprise sales strategy for existing select ancillary lines of business, Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) and strategic pharmacy services and wellbeing consultation. The incumbent will also lead the enterprise strategy for the development of new products and services that can impact revenue and margin goals.
Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities
• Establishes and drives a comprehensive business development strategy for the LTHC enterprise. Factors in all unique growth opportunities nationwide across all LTHC product lines and develops an overarching future state.
• Pursues strategic opportunities through new markets, partnerships, and relationships nationwide.
• Leads the prospecting, identification, and evaluation of partnership and acquisition opportunities that support business strategy and growth.
• Partners with other LTHC divisions of the enterprise to identify and evaluate opportunities for bottom line revenue that will enable achievement of margin diversification goals.
• Collaborates with Health Plan leadership to enable and enforce clear rules of engagement for enterprise-wide business development efforts.
• Oversees the implementation function for all product lines to ensure effective operational set up and overall on-boarding of new business.
• Responsible for the monitoring/analysis/communication and reporting of custom administrative/benefit requests and subsequent changes based on analysis.
• Establishes relationships with key external stakeholders including brokers, employers, and community groups. Leads the engagement strategy of deploying and executing on Key Initiatives and Programs to our employer groups and brokers to help meet the members where they are by deploying our Synchronized Health Value Story.
• Provides guidance and subject matter expertise support to Commercial Group Sales Representatives, Information Consultants, health professionals, brokers, and employer groups regarding pharmacy issues, prescribing trends and patterns, clinical developments and impact, and actions that can be taken to assure cost effective use of prescription medications.
• Establishes and drives a comprehensive retention and growth strategy for LBS. Factors in all unique growth opportunities across product lines and geographies and develops an overarching future state.
• Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.
• Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of all relevant legislative and regulatory mandates and ensures that all activities are compliant with these requirements.
• Conducts periodic staff meetings to include timely distribution and education related to departmental and Ethics/Compliance information.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
• Performs other functions as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Management, or related field. Masters' degree preferred.
• Ten or more years of demonstrated success in the employee benefits industry and five years of management and leadership experience.
• In-depth healthcare knowledge; understanding of important trends. Detailed understanding of employee benefit plan management operations and strategies.
• Experiences in mergers and acquisitions or book of business purchases.
• Experience managing budget/financials. Background in managing multi-line P&L books of business.
• Strong interpersonal communication, presentation, and training skills, including the demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships with all levels of management and interface routinely with Senior Executives.
• Proven ability to quickly become immersed in the broker market and build strong relationships in and out of area.
• Strong influence skills, well-organized, and able to coordinate and maximize product/market opportunities internally and externally.
• Ability to work well in and direct a complex matrixed organization.
• Demonstrated ability to make critical decisions that impact the Company's operations and finances.
• Successful track record of strategic planning and implementation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of competitors strengths, weaknesses, and strategies.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or trainings as needed.
• Ability to work prolonged periods sitting at a workstation and working on a computer.
