At Ensono, we're hiring a VP, Mainframe Application Modernization Consulting to build and lead a world-class team that will partner with our customers to reimagine the way they in which they use technology to deliver on their strategic business outcomes. This leader will be well versed in challenges companies face across people, process, and technology when executing large-scale transformations. The VP, Mainframe Application Modernization Consulting will have strong business acumen with an ability to execute on a wide range of sales and delivery strategies, lead transformational initiatives to establish market presence, increase revenue and improve profitability. This person will be a proven leader who contributes to our corporate development and executes on that vision with speed and focus while managing highly energized, focused cross-functional teams. 


Key Responsibilities 

The VP, Mainframe Application Modernization Consulting will be accountable for the enablement of the Ensono sales and go-to-market teams and be financially responsible for the delivery of: 

  • Mainframe Application Modernization Consulting Practice P&L vs budget and forecast. 

  • Project Revenue and Gross Margin vs. budget and forecast. 

It is required that this role foster productive cross functional planning and execution activities that will fully interlock Sales, Product, Marketing with the rest of Ensono’ s functions and leaders. Additional key responsibilities for the role: 

  • Lead and manage a team of master architects and engagement managers to achieve the corporate sales (bookings and revenue) target by month, quarter, and annualized basis. 

  • Enable success during the sales process through participation in sales presentations, proposal generation, utilization and prioritization, and representing a compelling integrated Ensono solution. 

  • Incorporate process and methodology that will help with integrating sales-to-service delivery via client onboarding process. 

  • Work internally to understand the impact of client requirements on standard services and develop product approaches to address customer need.  

  • Lead and perform technical and business managed service assessments at client locations and lead cross-functional teams to create a winning, deliverable solution based on specific client requirements/outcomes.  

  • Enable efficient and effective contract negotiations that includes Legal and other key delivery teams to address trade-offs in scope, cost, and risk.  

  • Transform client-gained knowledge into enhanced products and services by working with product teams.  

  • Create and implement effective onboarding.  

  • Determining how client’s requirements translate to Ensono offerings and lead various teams to configure the solution. 

  • In addition, constantly refresh knowledge of Ensono’ s evolving managed service offerings including service descriptions, agreement structures, collaborative documents and pricing dynamics. 


Required experience: 

  • Experience with maintaining and enhancing Mainframe legacy tools required to produce language and data conversions. 

  • Mainframe legacy code conversion to modern languages such as C#. 

  • Mainframe legacy data conversion to modern data languages such as DB2. 

  • Building and maturing a Mainframe Application Modernization Consulting organization 

  • Helping business and technology leaders understand how hybrid IT can change the way they deliver value to their customers. 

  • Creating and communicating a point of view on the importance of Mainframe technology that will add business value at enterprise scale. 

  • Working in a mature consulting practice and understand the best practices of a consulting business. 

  • Leading and/or being a part of Large Deal Pursuits including contracting and pricing negotiations. 

  • Understanding bill rates, margin, billable headcount, project staffing, and forecasting of the business. 

  • Developing total cost of ownership (TCO) models for clients that will act as the base case for Mainframe programs and implement ongoing benefit realization reporting/management. 

  • Collaborating with both business and technology executives to shape their highly visible, highly impactful Mainframe strategies 

  • Building and leading a diverse global team 

 

Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years in a Consulting organization with specific Mainframe Practice leadership/executive position. 

  • At least 5 of these years should be in building and managing change or transformation programs using hybrid IT. 

  • Experience managing a consulting P&L. 

  • Mainframe technology knowledge such as z/OS operating system architecture, internals, operations, and recovery scenarios. 

  • Ability to communicate globally and across all levels of the company.  

  • Ability to demonstrate an increase in responsibility and influence non-technical executives. 

  • Excellent people management and influencing skills. 

  • Ability to build and design estimating models for professional services. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; including handling challenging client or associate communications in high-pressure situations. 

  • Ability to mentor and guide individuals on both working practices and technical ability. 

  • Ability to develop plans and organize a strategic roadmap long-term.  

  • College degree in Information Technology, Business, or Engineering or the minimum required 10 years of working experience. 

We are a client-facing business, but we do encourage clients to allow us to work remotely most of the time so if you are not required to be on client site, you can choose to work from home or in our Ensono offices.
