About this roleÂWe are looking for an envelope-pushing design leader who cares deeply about growing our product design teams, while ensuring a high level of execution and craft.Â
Udemy’s designers are a close-knit bunch who share a serious commitment to delivering the best possible learning and teaching experiences to our diverse community across the globe. This person will influence and partner with leaders in product management, engineering , UX research, data science and the business in a collaborative atmosphere. They’ll have a large impact on delivery to our vision, “To Improve Lives through Learning” and will foster an environment where everyone around them is empowered to do their best work.
What you'll be doing:Â- Provide overall design strategy for our diverse, global team to maximize impact for our learners, instructors and business partners
- Grow and coach a talented team of mission-driven people across a full range of levels and tech stack
- Establish and define clear objectives geared towards accomplishing ambitious and truly impactful goals
- Continue to build on a culture that fosters inclusiveness, curiosity, revolutionary thinking and exceptional craft
- Drive collaboration and partnership across the organization
- Exceptional people leadership skills. People that have worked with you in previous roles would describe you as a thoughtful and exceptional design leader who leads with authenticity and empathy
- Loosely held strong opinions and the desire to create a space where others can thrive as well
- Previous experience presenting to and influencing executives to understand the vision
- An understanding of the interconnectedness of Product Design with other functions, such as UX Research, Product Management, Engineering and Marketing
- Eagerness to lead a design team that is excited to change lives all around the world through learning!

Investor Overview
The hiring range for this position is $320,000 - $340,000. Actual compensation is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for benefits, equity and an annual bonus.Â
