Job Description
F&G is hiring VP, Protection Segment Product Officer. This position is accountable for all product and financial aspects of the Protection Segment including leading product design & pricing, product management and financial planning.
This position reports directly to the Protection Segment Head and will work closely with the segment management team to successfully deliver production and profitability business objectives.
Responsibilities
This position provides leadership and direction to financial functions within the Protection Segment.
As a member of the Protection Segment Management Team, the Position will actively participate in the leadership and strategic direction of the segment. The position is a member of the Product Development Advisory team that will advise on the product development process and ensure adherence to goals and product strategy. The position is a voting member of the Market Opportunities Committee which provides strategic leadership for all market-facing activities of the Retail Business Unit. The position is a voting member of the Rate Setting Committee which owns ultimate decision-making authority for rate management decisions. Working with key cross-functional stake holders, including Sales & Distribution, Market Strategy, external distribution partners and vendors and others, the position has the following Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Accountable for product profitability of the Protection Segment
- Accountable for establishing pricing and profitability guidelines and driving increased understanding of profitability and capital implications of developing and managing the business
- Accountable for all stages of the development of life insurance and related protection products for the Protection Segment to ensure project goals are met under a fast to fail mentality
- Accountable for product management recommendations that are presented to the Rate Setting Committee for new business and in force crediting and feature rates
- Accountable for experience analysis and assumption development and recommendations that are presented to the Assumption A Committee (AAC) and the Retail Planning & Profit Committee
- Accountable to provide financial and profitability insight and guidance to the Protection Segment leadership team to inform appropriate decisions
- Accountable for financial plan for the Protection Segment
- Ensure appropriate collaboration with Retail Planning Lead
- Responsibility for setting budgets for the business segment
This Position will be active in industry committees and study groups to be aware of market forces and trends that will influence the company’s product strategy and portfolio. This position will have direct reports or matrix relationship reports of Pricing Teams, Experience Analysis Teams, Inforce Management Teams and/or Financial Planning Teams.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- 15+ years progressively more responsible experience in the financial services industry with a concentration on a variety of life insurance and related protection products
- Strong understanding of various independent distribution models for life insurance and related protection products required
- Experience with developing life insurance and related protection products required
- Experience with profitability modeling and management including capital planning required
- Experience with data analytics, experience studies and assumption setting preferred
- Strong understanding and familiarity with products, distribution, customers and regulatory requirements within the registered markets space preferred

- Limited travel required (<10%)
