IonQ is developing the world's most powerful full-stack quantum computer based on trapped-ion technology. We are pushing past the limits of classical physics and current supercomputing technology to unlock a new era of computing. The Vice President of Sales will build and lead our Public Sector business to support IonQ’s journey to build the world’s best quantum computers to solve the world’s most complex problems. This candidate will need to broaden IonQ’s reach to commercialize IonQ’s Quantum Hardware, Software, and Applications.
Responsibilities:
- Create and execute IonQ’s North American Public Sector strategy
- Develop executive relationships and new partnerships to drive Quantum Economies across North America
- Build and develop a strong team Form and maintain connections with IonQ’s client base to drive businessÂ
- Identify new opportunities with State, local, Higher Ed, and Academic Medical CentersÂ
- Educate prospects and clients about IonQ’s Quantum Offerings
- Work with customers to identify and collaborate on new use cases Oversee client satisfaction and successful implementation of IonQ offerings
- Build a robust pipeline of new client opportunities to drive business growth
- Collaborate with internal departments to drive successful customer engagements
You’d be a good fit with:
- Bachelors or Masters in Business, Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years technology solutions sales experience and deal making skills
- Experience hiring, mentoring, and leading high performing sales teams
- Experience driving business in the Public Sector space
- Experience with cross functional coordination with internal and external teams and stakeholders
- Expertise in strategy development, negotiation, consensus building and conflict resolution
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and work within a team environment
You’d be a great fit with:
- Knowledge in Quantum Computing Platforms, Algorithms, Applications
- Expertise and business development experience across multiple industry sectors
- Relationships with Academic and Government stakeholders
- Experience in category creation selling i.e. creating compelling approaches to sell solutions that are not usually a named category in customer budgets
Our HQ is located in College Park, Maryland and we are a 15 minute metro ride from Washington DC. We have also recently announced our new manufacturing and production facility in the Seattle, Washington area. We are actively building out teams in the Washington D.C., Seattle and Toronto metro areas and will want to locate you in one of these geographies. However, IonQ will be expanding into additional geographies both domestically and internationally so don’t let this stop you from applying.
