General Summary

A Website Specialist (aka Webmaster) is responsible for maintaining websites and web servers for an organization. Duties include working closely with digital marketing team (aka content owners) to publish content (on different CMS e.g. Sitecore, WordPress, PHP), fixing website errors, responding to for servers downtimes, running tests to make sure designs or updates function properly.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Build functional and easy-to-use websites.
• Test websites across browsers, operating systems, and devices.
• Maintain, configure and troubleshoot servers.
• Ensure site security by setting up & maintaining firewalls.
• Optimize loading speeds and capacity.
• Debug pages and fix broken links or images.
• Update website content and review SEO.
• Monitor and analyze site performance (e.g traffic, conversions).
• Address user feedback.
• Document processes, guidelines, and flows.
• Follow established web & vi guidelines.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Web Application Development, or a related field is preferred.
• 5 years of experience as a Webmaster or Web Developer.
• 3 years of experience in SEO.
• Familiarity with web standards.
• Working knowledge of website management tools Sitecore, WordPress & SharePoint.
• Expert in HTML/CSS, PHP, SQL & Javascript.
• Extensive working knowledge of major web browsers (Firefox, IE, Chrome, Opera, Safari).
• Proficient in setup, maintenance, and recovery of Apache Linux, and IIS Microsoft servers & services.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to investigate and solve technical problems.
• Excellent, verbal, and written communication and teamwork skills.
• Attention to detail and outstanding organizational skills.
• Extensive experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Sitecore Certified.
• Working knowledge of W3C programming standards.
• Working experience with SSH.
• Working experience with SSL & DNS setup and operations.
• Working knowledge of Adobe CS.
• General knowledge of basic network system administration (firewalls, security, routing, etc.).
• Working experience with online project management tools e.g. Wrike.
• Working experience with online SEO audit tools e.g. SEMRush.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with experience working with a culturally-diverse global team.
• Fluent in Japanese speaking, writing, and reading.
