Weekend Updates Editor

Forbes Shopping is seeking an experienced editor to manage weekend updates for our evergreen shopping guides and product reviews. This is a highly strategic role that will play a key part in holiday sales coverage as well as maintaining the success of our evergreen shopping guides and product reviews. Working in collaboration with the updates editor and senior strategy editor, you will be responsible for tracking and analysis as well as managing the actual content update process for all weekend posts. Tasks may also include editing, fact-checking, writing and researching. You will work closely with category editors as well as our SEO and affiliate team leads. This role is part of the Forbes Vetted editorial team and will report to the Forbes Vetted Senior Strategy Editor. 

This is a remote full-time role with an option to commute to the Jersey City Forbes office if desired

Responsibilities:

• Maintaining documentation for evergreen content analysis and developing a weekend content update schedule 
• Implementing both small and large content updates, which may involve communicating with writers, editing, fact-checking, writing, and/or selecting photos 
• Optimizing stories for SEO and affiliate revenue
• Replacing out-of-stock products in shopping guides and roundups
• Participating in sales event coverage, including potential shifts over holiday weekends like Memorial Day, Labor Day and Black Friday through Cyber Monday
• Requires weekend availability, with a flexible Thursday–Monday schedule

The ideal candidate:

• Loves digging into data and must have a super strong grasp of SEO best practices for lifestyle and shopping content
• Must be an excellent writer with direct prior experience writing and editing products guides and reviews
• Great organizational skills and attention to detail are required
• Experience working with freelance writers required
• Experience working with affiliate content strongly preferred
• Project management experience a major plus
