Summary

This position is located in the Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration. ETA provides Federal contracts and technical assistance to State and local levels that provide workforce development services to various adult and youth populations.

Qualifications

For GS-12: Applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-11, in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Examples of specialized experience include:

  • Assists in the preparation of service delivery contracts and training agreements;
  • Experience assisting in conducting workforce studies, analyzing the results, and making sound recommendations for consideration;
  • Experience in oral and written communications sufficient to advise and consult with a variety of customers regarding workforce development;
  • Experience assisting with reviewing agency programs, practices, and/or policies to develop and deliver guidance or training to various stakeholders.

  • Experience in oral and written communications sufficient to advise and consult with a variety of customers to present findings and recommendations, or negotiate agreements, or secure cooperation;
  • Experience reviewing agency programs, practices, and policies to develop and deliver guidance and training to various stakeholders.

Education

There is no educational substitution at these grade levels.

This position is inside the bargaining unit. If the duty location is within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, the position will be included in the Local 12, AFGE bargaining unit. If the duty location is outside the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, the position will be included in the NCFLL bargaining unit.
