The Court reviews Board decisions appealed by claimants who believe the Board erred in its decision. The Court's review is based on the record before the agency and arguments of the parties. This job is filled by an alternative hiring process, not competitive civil service. Telework is authorized up to full-time. Applicants must have at least 1 year experience in judiciary or veterans law, strong academic achievement, written communication skills, and legal analysis abilities. Preferred qualifications include top law school standing, law review experience, moot court participation, and veterans law clinic experience. The CS-12 level requires one year of post-J.D. legal work experience, while CS-13 requires a minimum of two years. Promotion potential exists based on performance and standards.
