General Motors is seeking a Scientist for a unique opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team driving the design, development, and deployment of advanced statistical and mathematical solutions. The role involves working on a team to solve GM's most pressing challenges across the enterprise using AI, ML, and other analytical techniques. Responsibilities include developing predictive and prescriptive models, analyzing large amounts of diverse information, creating UI applications, preprocessing structured and unstructured data, monitoring model effectiveness, presenting complex information using data visualization techniques, and creating repeatable and scalable code bases. Candidates must be collaborative team players with a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, 3+ years of experience, Python proficiency, and expertise across multiple domains of forecasting, clustering, classification, econometrics, optimization, Bayesian statistics, neural networks, deep learning, natural language processing, LLMs, generative AI, and other machine learning and AI methodologies. Experience with SQL, Databricks, and cloud-based data science platforms is preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, solid problem-solving skills, and the ability to translate business questions into data-driven solutions are required. The role is categorized as hybrid, requiring the successful candidate to report to Austin, TX, or Warren, MI, three times per week at minimum.
