safe and reliable high power electronics for the aircraft You will be part of the Propulsion team in the Powertrain IPT<p> <p><b>What you will do<b> <p><ul><li>As part of the Powertrain IPT organization and deployed in the Motor Controller Hardware Team you will act as a seasoned engineer and designer focused in the design and development of lowhigh voltage electronics for a high power inverter<li> <li>You will take part in designing high reliability power architectures and control electronics in accordance with relevant military standards DO254 standards FMEA analysis and tight tolerancetemperature restraints <li> <li>You will support motor controller testing dyno testing propeller testing and also aircraft testing as an expert in power electronics<li> <li>You will take ownership of designs and oversee all aspects of lifecycle development including but not limited to concept board design multifunctional team coordination deployment of design into product lifecycle management PLM software design verification testing standardized documentation requirements verification and troubleshooting of issues during experimentation <li> <li>You will regularly coordinate with teams outside of the Motor Controller Team mechanical thermal flight bus systems safety and design to requirements as needed to meet goals of other IPTs<li> <li>You will help conceptualize designs that optimize the weight and power density of the propulsion unit<li> <ul><p><b>What you have done<b> <p><ul><li>PhD with 5 years experience MSEE degree with at least 8 years of experience or a BSEEBSME degree with at least 12 years of experience<li> <li>Experienced in developing multikilowatt power electronics and motor controllers<li> <li>Experienced in weight optimizing power electronics<li> <li>Experience designing for and troubleshooting EMIEMC related issues<li> <li>Experience in troubleshooting issues during the testing phase of integrated designs<li> <li>A good grasp of analog and digital hardware development and validation techniques<li> <li>Ability to model simulate and optimize performance in MATLAB and PLECS<li> <li>Great interpersonal skills<li> <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills<li> <ul><p><b>Desired<b> <p><ul><li>Familiarity with DO160DO254 certification and aerospace development best practices and standards<li> <li>Experience with weight minimization is strongly desired<li> <li>Experience with 10kW and above threephase motor drive hardware design is strongly desired<li> <li>Motor Control theory FOC DTC etc<li> <li>Familiar with electromagnetic motor design<li> <li>Familiarity with Altium designer<li> <li>Experience developing thermal management approaches for power electronics<li> <li>Familiarity with the latest SiC and GaN
