Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in aquatic recreational activities.
- One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to use and perform maintenance of pool equipment.
- Understanding of and the ability to enforce rigid safety regulations to ensure maximum protection of swimmers.
- Must have knowledge of pool water chemistry and ability to use equipment to take pool readings.
- Current or able to obtain within 30 days of hire nationally recognized certifications: Lifeguard training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer or equivalent, Standard First Aid or equivalent.
- Current or able to obtain within 6 months of hire a nationally recognized certification as a Water Safety Instructor and Lifeguard Instructor or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass an initial and recurrent physical ability test to include swimming, treading, and a timed brick retrieval.
- Must be able to accommodate a flexible work schedule to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (Tier 1) with Childcare background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age.
- Must have valid driver's license and be able to obtain/maintain Government Owned Vehicle (GOV) operator's permit to travel between camps as required.
