Job Description

Job Objective:

Assists in managing and meeting compliance of CFR 192/195 Integrity Management Programs (IMP) for regulated pipeline assets in the L48 region (Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado, North Dakota)

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Has a strong knowledge and experience of the following:
    • Federal, state, and jurisdictional inspection and integrity regulations
    • Operational activities and risks
    • In-line inspection (ILI) technology
    • Hydrostatic pressure testing
    • Pipeline repair techniques
    • Risk assessment and management
    • Internal and external corrosion control measures
    • American Petroleum Institute (API), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) codes
  • Maintains the written IMP document, including annual reviews and incorporating updates and changes to regulations
  • Provides oversight/execution of the following plan elements:
    • Segment identification
    • Baseline assessments and re-assessments
    • Data integration
    • Information analysis
    • Analysis of Preventive and Mitigative Measures (P&MMs)
    • Continual evaluation
  • Plans and executes ILI program (both baseline and continuous)
    • Develops and maintains inspection requirements for each pipeline segment
    • Plans the approved inspection and/or testing program to meet the integrity performance standards (API RP 1163)
    • Manages the ILI project, including the planning, coordination, and execution of the ILI tool run
    • Reviews and interprets inspection results
    • Evaluates results and identifies repair requirements
    • Determines remaining risk
  • Determines risk of regulated pipeline assets
    • Updates Comprehensive Risk Assessment (CRA) after integrity assessments
    • Reviews risk assessments annually for updates/changes to overall risk profiles
  • Updates IMP performance measures annually to evaluate program effectiveness
  • Provides support for program, procedure and, document reviews during external audits

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in pipeline integrity or related industry required
  • Relevant experience in working with state and federal regulatory agencies
  • Understanding of general engineering practices and operational risk
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Possesses strong communication and technical skills
    • Clarity and conciseness in written and verbal communication
    • Proficient in Windows-based programs and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be highly goal oriented, self-motivated, and able to proceed on assigned tasks with minimal supervision
    • Capable of handling multiple projects concurrently
    • Ability to align personal and program goals with the combined overall asset and Company goals

Education Requirements:

  • Required: Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university in Engineering or a closely related technical field

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

  • Preferred: Registered Professional Engineer
