IT SPECIALIST (COMPUTER SERVICES), NF-03/RFT, CAMP FOSTER

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

Work requires lifting and carrying objects up to 50 pounds.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:

1. Must be at least 18 years old AND have graduated from high school or been awarded a certificate equivalent to graduating from high school (Valid documentation will be required upon hire.)
2. Experience in an administrative environment using information systems security and information assurance systems and procedures.  Minimum of two (2) years of experience is desirable.
3. Must have or be able to obtain in 12 months of employment, CompTIA A+ certification.
4. Must have or be able to obtain in 12 months of employment, a certification to meet or exceed DoDD 8570 IAT Level 2 security compliancy.  CompTIA Security+.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Detailed knowledge of the capabilities and limitations of hardware components and equipment configuration to resolve problems and assist in the day-to-day maintenance of the MCCS Information system.  Minimum of two (2) years experience is desirable.
2. Knowledge of computer networking including Windows networking environment, TCP/IP and Ethernet.  Detailed experience with all versions of Microsoft Windows, and all versions of Microsoft Office.
3. General working knowledge of database storage, linked databases, file servers and maintenance of database on file servers.
4. Ability to communicate effectively in order to provide the required support for which this position entails.

This position has been designated as a position of trust. The incumbent must be eligible for a Tier 3 (Secret Clearance) background investigation to satisfy IT Level II designation. Appointment and continued employment are subject to a favorable adjudication of the security investigation.

Due to the nature of work in this position, the incumbent may serve in an ¿on call¿ duty status outside of normal work hours that includes:  remaining in a reasonable call back radius, carrying a cell phone or pager, or regularly checking email to respond to emergencies; remaining in a state of readiness to perform work with limitations on pursuing outside leisure activities, and/or reporting to a designated post of duty to be ready to or to perform work.  Temporary designated post of duty can include various locations within MCIPAC.
