Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties You will prepare initial Architectural specifications, review drawings, monitor contract progress and identified discrepancies on final inspections on all assigned Public Works projects. You will complete coordination of specifications with working drawings, equipment requirements, activity requirements, etc. You will participate in planning conferences with staff officers, service contract managers, and customer activities on complex jobs in order to advise such customers as to scope of work and conditions under which work will have to be performed. You will review Architectural plans and specifications submitted by Architectural- Engineering contractors for completeness, practicability, detail, and scope. You will prepare simple small purchase orders, initial scopes of work, and estimate for Facilities Support Contracts (FSC). Process the work within 15 workdays of assignment to the Public Works Department You will prepare detailed material and labor estimates using Estimating Handbooks and/or Engineering Performance Standards for types of contracts and change orders. You will review Architectural scopes of work on initial estimates generated by the Planning and Estimating Section for completeness, contractibility, detail, and scope for complex and/or unique projects. You will track assigned FSC contracts for the purpose of exercising options so that appropriated fiscal planning can be accomplished. You will be responsible for the adequacy, meaning, and use of state-of-the-art materials in the Architectural portion of the scopes of work, specifications, drawings, and historical data used on all types of contracts. Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-07) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: preparing drawings, contract work statements, estimates and Architectural specifications for facilities projects. Additional information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
