Job Overview
The Accountant will be responsible for managing and executing core accounting functions including general ledger and cost accounting, fixed asset and depreciation tracking, and internal financial reporting. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments. The ideal candidate will support quarterly budgeting efforts, perform monthly financial analyses, and ensure timely and accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
Duties & Responsibilities
· Perform general ledger (GL) accounting and cost accounting duties
· Prepare and post journal entries and assist in month-end and year-end closing
· Manage cash flow activities and monitor internal compensation allocations
· Maintain and reconcile fixed asset accounts and manage asset depreciation
· Oversee and update the asset management system regularly
· Prepare for and interface with outside auditors, CPA firms, and state/county auditors (every 3–4 years)
· Manage relationships with banks and respond to reporting requests
· Prepare and submit internal financial reports and ensure data integrity
· Create and maintain financial reports using Epicor, including report formatting and plug-in of relevant information
· Support the preparation of quarterly global financial statements and budgets
· Analyze monthly financial statements and assist with monthly budgeting cycles
· Contribute to the ongoing improvement of financial processes, controls, and procedures
Manage or review AP/AR processes to ensure timely payments and collections
· Oversee aging reports and assist with resolving discrepancies
· Files required tax forms with federal, state and local government agencies.
· Adheres to all company and departmental policies and procedures.
· Maintain customer and MASS Quality requirements.
· Maintain a clean and safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
· Contributes to the department’s team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• · Strong understanding of general ledger and cost accounting principles
· Proficiency in preparing journal entries and managing fixed assets and depreciation schedules
· Working knowledge of financial statement preparation, analysis, and reporting
· Familiarity with banking interactions, audits, and regulatory compliance
· Proficient in Epicor reporting tools and Microsoft Excel
· Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· High attention to detail and accuracy
· Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
· Ability to follow verbal instructions
· Ability to be cross trained in other departments to help with unexpectedly high demands.
· Required to wear PPE when in the production area
· Excellent organizational skills
Education, Training & Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting (preferred)
· Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting with a degree
· Minimum 10 years of relevant accounting experience without a degree
· Experience with Epicor ERP system is strongly preferred
· Background in manufacturing or cost accounting is necessary
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,184.00 - $91,158.00 per year
