Accountant/Payroll Specialist

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant/Payroll Specialist. This role involves processing payroll, filing sales tax returns, internal reporting, and other admin tasks to support a group of restaurants. Duties • Process biweekly payroll for the restaurant group, approximately 350 employees with tips and monthly bonus calculations. • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant industry practices regarding employee onboarding; documenting raises, promotions, terminations; PTO reporting; time card adjustments; manager approvals; etc. • File sales tax returns for the restaurant group. • Download and summarize credit card spending in Excel; journal into QuickBooks. • Weekly Excel reports for restaurant management, including cash over/short, reporting hours worked by minors, tracking metrics, etc. • Work with external bookkeeping service to resolve questions and assist with month-end close tasks. • Document and improve workflows and processes. • Other duties as assigned. Skills • High volume payroll processing with acute attention to details such as pay raises, tip allocations, PT to FT promotions, terminations, etc. • Possess strong computer skills, especially Excel, Word, OneDrive, and QuickBooks. • Analytical and problem solving skills. • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. • Ability to work at a computer for lengthy periods and operate other office productivity equipment. • Strong positive attitude and ability to communicate in a constructive manner. • Ability to pass a background check. • Business, Accounting or related degree preferred but can be substituted for 4+ years of relevant experience. • Salary will be commensurate with experience Join us in this exciting opportunity to contribute to our financial operations while furthering your career in accounting.
