📐 About this role

As the Accounting Manager at Writer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the company's financial health and success. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and managing accounts payable and receivables. With your expertise, you'll provide valuable insights and analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive the company's growth.

Reporting to the head of finance, the accounting manager will supervise the accounting function, which currently has one full-time employee, and provide timely, accurate, and useful accounts. 

🦸🏻‍♀️ Your responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting

• We analyze financial data and prepare financial statements, reports, and presentations

• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures

• Manage accounts payable and receivable

• Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records

• Prepare and file tax returns

• Providing financial advice and guidance to management

• Work with external auditors and other financial professionals

• Keep current on accounting standards and best practices

• Identify and mitigate financial risks

• Supervise and scale accounting team

• Strong accounting and financial management skills

• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, with timely and accurate close

• Track record of managing first audit at growth technology companies

• Experience with budgeting and forecasting

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience leading accounting team, and working independently

• Proficiency in accounting software, with experience upgrading ERP

• Knowledge of tax laws and regulations

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• CPA, with at least 10 years of experience

• High intellectual curiosity and a proclivity to lean into a new subject matter

• An eye for spotting an opportunity, intuition for determining which ones to prioritize, and courage to follow through
