Agile Cloud Product Owner

LOCATION

YOUR ROLE

As Genworth continues to focus on a data driven strategy, it is important that we have cloud-based capabilities to run our advanced modeling and predictive analytics. Genworth's US Life Insurance division is looking for a Product Owner to develop cloud capabilities for successful operationalization of key actuarial modeling, predictive modeling, and analytics used to create insights and drive strategy. The Product Owner operates within an Agile environment side-by-side with key business stakeholders, developers, analysts, architects and testing resources to define high level business intent and features, drive solution decisions and ensure finished products meet the needs of all stakeholders. The Product Owner provides strategic direction for a team through Product experience and business intelligence. They shape the strategy and content of IT delivery in an Agile environment.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Owns the Product Vision for the Cloud Data Acceleration Agile team
  • Frequently meet with customers understand their needs in order to develop and maintain a prioritized Product Backlog
  • Define and maintain a Product Roadmap for Agile project delivery via User Stories
  • Solicit ideas, assess, and prioritize product opportunities, both for new solutions and existing feature optimization
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key business stakeholders; leverage their insight to develop great products and identify cross-organizational synergies & dependencies
  • Keep the business informed of product activities and progress to goals; develop and execute communication plans for partners across the organization
  • Work with business area owners and stakeholders to identify applicable business rules
  • Maintain team engagement and morale through regular touch points and interactions
  • Write User Stories with detailed Acceptance Criteria based on the Product Roadmap
  • Work with the team to ensure that they understand User Stories and Acceptance Criteria and that it meets their Definition of Ready
  • Update the Product Backlog and Product Roadmap each Sprint based upon the team's delivery
  • Assist with creation of rate increase implementation files
  • Provide LTC product knowledge/respond to questions and issues asked of the Product team
  • Support other team members on the rate action implementation team

MUST HAVE / WHAT YOU BRING

  • Demonstrated progression and growth through past career experiences on Business or IT-related projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills leveraged to interface with business stakeholders and technical delivery resources
  • Ability to prioritize multiple customer requests based upon business value
  • Experience facilitating working sessions between different groups of stakeholders

NICE TO HAVE

  • BA or BS in related field
  • 3+ years' experience in project management or related field
  • Previous experience with Long Term Care Insurance and/or healthcare
  • Technical cloud background (Azure/Snowflake) a plus
  • Previous Business Analyst experience a plus
  • Understanding of Agile, Scrum and related principles and best practices
  • Experience leading technology-centered solutions delivery
