Job Description
Responsibilities will be assigned at an entry level. Associate Accountant should already have knowledge of accounting concepts, guidelines, principles, and practices, to be able to apply GAAP to Oil and Gas Accounting. Associate will perform routine assignments and assist in the day-to-day maintenance of Property Accounting related general ledger accounts by using accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Duties and Responsibilities
- A/R and A/P Activities
- Expense Allocations
- Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) Analysis
- Fixed Asset Accounting & Reconciliation
- Monthly Accruals
- Train with coworkers on other aspects of Property Accounting: Fixed Assets, Non-Producing, Producing Properties, and Lease Accounting
- Assist with tasks related to Monthly, Quarterly, and Year-end closing schedule items
- Personal commitment to inclusion and diversity
- Other projects as assigned
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and oral
- Proficient computer skills, preferably knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven team player who can adapt quickly to the workflow and environment
- Flexible, thorough, and prompt in high-pressure situations
- Able to effectively manage time and prioritize projects in order to meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Exhibit initiative and assertiveness
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices (GAAP)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited College or University
- An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
Physical Requirements
- Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping.
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
