Job Description

In this role, you will work with key members of CFS business units, as well as the IT Department and external partners to architect and mature all facets of the CFS data analytics program to help increase commercial and operational insights across the organization. This will be accomplished through aggregation and standardization of disparate data sources, design of data models, use of advanced analytics techniques, and application of market-leading analytics tools. Examples of this work include discovering trends and anomalies in customer buying patterns, and uncovering resource allocation and optimization opportunities.

Keys to success factors include strong hands-on technical skills in database design and ETL principles, analytics knowledge, high levels of creativity and innovation, the ability to collaborate and communicate across the organization, good project management and time management skills, and the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects of varying complexity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Lead efforts that will advance the organization's data informed decision-making abilities.

• Lead the functional and technical design and implementation of business intelligence and analytics frameworks using Microsoft technologies, such as SQL Server, Power BI, and SQL Server Integration Services.

• Architect, and maintain ETL solutions focused on moving internal and external data from a highly diverse data landscape into a centralized data warehouse, including real-time and batch integrations.

• Work closely with business functional areas to identify insight gaps, as well as data or reporting related challenges.

• Contribute to the organization's analytics and reporting strategy and roadmap.

• Lead implementation and enforcement of data governance policies and data quality standards.

• Stay current with vendor and product roadmaps and make recommendations for future alignment.

• Assist with Power BI administration, including user and group permissions.

• Evaluate the progress and competency of the data analytics program and make recommendations for improvement.

• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's Degree in the field of Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Engineering, or Business Administration is required.

• Experience or certification in Microsoft technologies, Data Science, and/or Python are strongly desired.

SKILLS REQUIRED

• Five years hands-on experience with dimensional data modeling and ETL processes.

• Five years hands-on experience with SQL Server and database design principles.

• Five years hands-on experience writing advanced SQL queries and query tuning.

• Five years hands-on experience with front end analytics and visualization tools, data query platforms, reports, dashboards, etc.

• One-year hands-on experience writing DAX in Power BI, Excel PowerPivot, or SQL Server Tabular Models.

• Demonstrated problem solving skills, business acumen, and ability to glean actionable insights from data.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey analytic insights to both IT and business audiences.

• Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization, and external partners.

• Understanding of major business systems such as ERP systems, CRM systems, HRIS systems, as well as systems for warehouse management, manufacturing, and shop floor control.

• Ability to use Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.

• Highly self-motivated and self-directed with a high attention to detail.

• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Willingness and ability to work extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines.

SKILLS PREFERRED

• Experience designing and creating tabular data models within Power BI.

• Experience creating ETL processes with SQL Server Integration Services.

• Experience training end users in-person and online.

• Experience with other modern BI tools and platforms.

• Understanding of sales, channel, and eCommerce buying processes.

• Knowledge and experience with project management methodologies.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Up to 10% travel to training events or in support of projects and corporate initiatives.
