Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC. in Salt Lake City, UT. Associate in the Legal Entity Controllers business unit of Controllers division which oversees broker-dealer reporting. Responsible for financial and regulatory reporting for entities and for preparing public financial disclosures. Performs monthly close of company's balance sheet which includes reconciliation and analysis of cash instruments, intercompany trades, receivables/payables from/to brokers-dealers and customers. Prepares, reviews, and presents monthly commentary to highlight specific Balance Sheet drivers, trends and key business metrics. Prepares and reviews semi-annul public stand-alone financials, including Statement of Financial Condition, Fair Value and Cash Instruments notes. Performs quarterly Balance Sheet substantiation and country exposure reporting through collaboration with Product Controllers and Operations. Assists in preparation of broker-dealer monthly FOCUS (Financial and Operational Combined Uniform Single Report) report to FINRA which includes preparation, review and presentation to Controllers Management. Prepares, reviews and presents monthly supplemental filings to FINRA and SEC providing a detailed schedule of the firm's inventory. Designs improvement to existing logic to address any shortcomings or limitations to existing process to automate a process or perform new/additional analysis to support the regulatory reporting for the entity.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Finance, Accounting, or a related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or in a related role. Must have one (1) year of experience with: utilizing knowledge of US GAAP accounting, reporting and regulatory knowledge of broker dealers to perform monthly close of legal entity balance sheet; preparing financial statements for broker-dealer entities including footnote disclosures for standalone entity reporting; and preparing reports submitted to regulators including quarterly and monthly supplemental inventory disclosures to FINRA and SEC. Must have two (2) years of experience with: financial control infrastructure and financial control risk assessments related to equity and commodity markets and associated products traded in those markets to perform quarterly balance sheet review; clearly, concisely, and confidently presenting information to senior management; using advanced excel skills and self-service tools to build ad-hoc reports and streamline existing processes; and working with large data sets to improve and migrate manual processes to tactical or strategic platforms.
