Position Expectations

AdvancedMD is seeking an assertive, highly motivated instructional designer with advanced research skills and strong writing abilities. This individual will become part of a team of professionals that supports the learning and performance needs of clients and associates.

Our instructional designers do extensive research to gather information and become subject-matter experts and then translate that technical information into video/training content for various types of audiences. They contribute to the development process as a member of multiple development scrum teams.

Essential Job Functions:

• Gather, derive, and clearly deliver information obtained through meeting participation, emails, interviewing, and independent research (feature testing)
• Become a subject-matter expert (SME) on features you are creating content for
• Research and resolve functionality questions not answered in existing collateral
• Participate in and contribute to the development process as a member of development scrum teams
• Ensure that video/training content meets application functionality and appearance
• Translate technical concepts into non-technical training for various types of audiences
• Create, review, and modify videos following existing processes, incorporating standards and styles specific to AdvancedMD
• Participate in peer reviews
• Engage fully in projects with a positive attitude

• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts using both written and visual techniques

• Strong technical aptitude, able to quickly master software programs and technical processes
• Ability to manage projects and deadlines with medium direction
• Ability to become a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple software programs and numerous features
• Ability to work both independently and in a group with minimal direction

Education and Experience:

• Minimum two years college education or equivalent required
• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Communications, English, or other related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of learning related experience preferred (training, facilitation, content development, analysis, research).
• 1-2 years writing, proofing, or editing experience in any genre preferred
• Experience mentoring or training others preferred
• Solid experience with authoring tools or other video editing software preferred
