Associate UX Designer

Job Description

O.C. Tanner is looking for an Associate UX Designer to join our team. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary product team made up of UX Designers and Researchers, Product Managers, and Engineers to discover, validate, prioritize, and build solutions to help move our products forward in the market.

Ultimately, we want to delight our users with an exceptional experience.

You will:

• Discover and prioritize user problems and opportunities.
• Find ways to solve complex interaction and visual design problems.
• Craft high-quality designs through testing and iteration.
• Build interactive prototypes for user testing and concept validation.
• Conduct user interviews, moderate testing sessions, and perform other research activities under the guidance of our UX research team.
• Work closely with your team's product manager and engineers to define short-term and long-term strategies for improving your product area.

Job Requirements

We are looking for:

• Experience in the form of higher education, a bootcamp, and/or internships. Should be focused on digital product design, interaction design, or a related area of study.
• A digital portfolio of your best work demonstrating experience in information architecture, interaction design, and your product design process.
• Solid communication skills to express your ideas to your teammates and other stakeholders.
• A love of collaboration with other designers and teams of non-designers.
• Self-motivation with a passion for learning and growth.

Bonus points if you have:

• 1-2 years of professional experience working as a UX Designer, UX/UI Designer, Interaction Design, Product Designer, etc
• Familiarity with how code works is helpful (Specifically HTML/CSS/javascript)
• Experience working with a design system and utilizing systemic UI patterns
• Experience working in Figma

Remote Work Policy

This is a hybrid in-person/remote role. We gather in the office as a team on Mondays at our headquarters in Salt Lake City. The rest of the week, our team members are free to work from home or come into the office.
