Basic Language Skills Special Education Teacher

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Basic Language Skills Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment for students with diverse needs, including those with autism, developmental disabilities, and other special requirements. This role involves developing tailored educational plans, implementing effective teaching strategies, and collaborating with families and support staff to ensure each student's success. Responsibilities • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs. • Create engaging lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities. • Utilize effective classroom management techniques to maintain a positive learning environment. • Conduct assessments and standardized testing to monitor student progress. • Provide speech therapy, behavioral therapy, and early intervention strategies as needed. • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other educators to support student development. • Foster literacy education and math skills through innovative teaching methods. • Mentor students in social skills and emotional regulation. • Maintain accurate records of student performance and behavior management strategies. • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. • Valid teaching certification in Special Education. • Experience working with children with disabilities, including autism and developmental disabilities. • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices. • Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson planning tailored for diverse learners. • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, and colleagues. • Must be certified as a special education teacher and hold a certificate as a CALT or CALP so that they can teach a specific curriculum.
