Clinical Pharmacist – Inpatient Location:Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center, Nellis AFB, NV Schedule:Full-time, Monday – Friday | Inpatient Clinical Role Contract Position | 4 Openings About the Role We are seeking experiencedClinical Pharmaciststo provide inpatient pharmacy services at Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center. In this role, you will be a critical part of the healthcare team, ensuring safe, effective medication therapy management for a diverse patient population. Key Responsibilities • Respond to Code Blue and cardiac arrest situations and provide life-saving support. • Verify prescriptions for accuracy regarding dose, interactions, allergies, and appropriateness. • Monitor clinical and laboratory endpoints to assess medication safety and effectiveness. • Prepare and dispense medications, including compounding sterile preparations and chemotherapy agents. • Conduct patient discharge interviews with medication counseling. • Manage controlled substances including inventory, dispensing, returns, and wastage documentation. • Participate in medical rounds, collaborate with physicians, and make pharmacological recommendations. • Support quality improvement initiatives such as antibiotic stewardship and patient wellness programs. • Train and precept pharmacy students and participate in peer review. • Maintain clean, safe, and compliant workspaces according to Joint Commission standards. Qualifications • Education:Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) from an ACPE-accredited school (BS in Pharmacy may be accepted for current employees). • Licensure:Current, valid, unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in any U.S. state, D.C., Puerto Rico, Guam, or U.S. Virgin Islands. • Certifications: • BLS(Basic Life Support) – required • ACLS(Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – required • Experience:Minimum of 1 year inpatient pharmacy experience (military treatment facility preferred). • Board Certification:Board certification in a pharmacy specialty OR completion of a clinical residency/fellowship OR documentation of equivalent training/experience. • Technical Skills:Proficient with EHR systems (Essentris, MHS Genesis), Microsoft Office Suite, and secure messaging platforms. Job Type: Contract Pay: $54.85 - $66.05 per hour Work Location: In person
