Job Purpose:
Under the limited supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, this position will focus on the management of a small team applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position is a “hands on” role that assist in meeting the organizations values and mission as the organization grows both organically and inorganically.
Job Duties:
• Planning, directing, and coordinating all accounting operational functions, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll
• Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
• Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements on a timely basis
• Coordinating activities of external auditors and tax return preparation by external tax accountant
• Providing management with information vital to the decision-making processes
• Assisting with the budget process and manage analytics associated with annual budgets and forecasts
• Overseeing treasury operations including cash collections and disbursements
• Assessing current accounting operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing new processes and procedures
• Evaluating and modifying, as necessary, accounting, and internal control systems
• Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and related applications and making improvements and changes as necessary
• Assisting with the development and monitoring of business performance metrics
• Oversight and/or preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual tax, insurance and compliance reporting.
• Hiring, training, and retaining skilled accounting staff
• Evaluating, modifying, maintaining, monitoring, and enforcing accounting and financial policies and procedures
• Other projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA license.
• Knowledge of NetSuite.
• M&A experience.
• Private equity experience
