Peak Builders Inc. is looking for a Lead Carpenter!
For over a decade, Peak Builders continues to construct quality residential living spaces around the Seattle/Eastside areas. At Peak Builders we're passionate about home building and determined to deliver the very best service with every relationship. We're looking for a lead carpenter with at least 5+ years' residential carpentry experience to lead and oversee the construction process from 'start to finish' with 'bags on' at jobsites. The ideal lead carpenter thrives in a fast pace jobsite, while juggling site supervision and carpentry work simultaneously with ease.
The ability to be a proactive problem solver while leading a crew efficiently with a "get it done" attitude is a must.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Performs a variety of highly skilled residential carpentry that includes rough framing and finish work
• Supervising and monitoring subcontractor activities onsite to ensure quality and compliance with specifications and procedures
• Consistently maintains a safe and clean jobsite. Attends safety meetings
• Supervises and reviews the work of apprentice carpenters and jobsite laborers
• Effective communication of project status to project manager on a daily basis
• Ensures that all building codes are met
• Anticipates potential problem areas and analyzes and recommends solutions or corrective actions to project manager
• Maintain excellent customer, subcontractor, and vendor relationships
• Manage supplies, materials and tools onsite
• Performs other related duties, as assigned
Requirements:
• Exceptional Customer Service, communication, and problem solving skills!
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision on a fast paced jobsite
• 5+ years performing quality craftsmanship carpentry to include framing and finish work
• 3+ years of residential construction jobsite supervision
• History of success leading residential construction crews efficiently with emphasis on quality craftsmanship
• Ability to read and interpret blue-prints, architectural notes, and design specs
• Expert knowledge of residential building codes
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Valid WA state driver's license and the ability to be covered under company auto insurance policy
• Reliable transportation
• Hand and power tools
Working Conditions:
• Work is performed at jobsites. Daily travel to multiple jobsites around the Seattle/Eastside may be required.
• Working outdoors year round in Washington climate. May occasionally work near dangerous equipment.
• Physical demands include the ability to safely lift over 60lbs independently on a regular basis, and work at heights on roofs and above plate lines in varying outdoor weather elements. The position requires frequent standing, walking, kneeling, reaching, bending, crawling, handling, grasping and repetitive hand/wrist motions.

Pay: $30.00 - $38.00 per hour
