YOUR ROLE
The Long-Term Care (LTC) Assumption Development team is primarily responsible for establishing, monitoring and managing assumptions for purposes of reserves, reserve adequacy testing and premium rate increases for the Individual and Group businesses. As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for executing the assumption update processes. You will also be responsible for monitoring how the emerging experience compares to the current assumptions, communicating out the results to parties external from the LTC Experience team and the proper execution of SOX controls.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop statistical models to review and analyze emerging trends related to the LTC insurance
• Help explain variances and provide input to update models forecasting policy holder behavior
• Maintain and enhance tools used to support models. Recommend and drive analytics improvements where needed
• Communicate results of studies to senior leaders and LTC actuarial teammates
• Assist with reporting of key metrics using SAS, Python, SQL, PowerBI and other tools
• Ensure compliance with Genworth governance and proper execution of controls and technical reviews
• Conduct peer reviews of assumption development work
• Provide ad hoc analytical support for strategic initiatives and internal/external customer requests
• Collaborate with teammates on special projects

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BS Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or comparable major
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in the financial industry or comparable field
• Team player with strong technical skills who works well with others in a professional environment
• Strong experience with Excel and programing in SAS, Python or R
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities in an organized manner
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of relevant work experience within the LTC insurance industry
• Experience developing LTC assumptions or performing LTC experience reviews
• Experience using GLMs and other predictive analytic techniques
• Knowledge of Valuation, Modeling, Projections, or other insurance processes
