Sunderstorm is seeking a talented and motivatedData Analytics Engineerto join our dynamic Data & Systems team. We’re looking for someone to lead the maintenance and improvement of our Tableau business intelligence platform while also designing, developing, and optimizing data pipelines. In this role, you will reshape our analytics infrastructure and collaborate across teams to improve business operations and efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical foundation, 1-3 years of relevant experience, and a passion for uncovering insights from diverse data sources. This is an exciting opportunity to be a core member of our growing Data & Systems team in an evolving industry.
Essential Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
● Create compelling reports and data visualization solutions using Tableau dashboards while improving reporting infrastructure.
● Develop SQL and Python transformation code to process data for analytics and reporting.
● Design and implement ETL pipelines to deliver reliable, scalable, and efficient data solutions from disparate data sources.
● Respond to ad hoc data analysis requests from cross-functional departments.
● Manage and fine-tune AI agents connecting internal tools and databases.
● Collaborate effectively with managers, system analysts, and external developers.
● Ensure accuracy, consistency, and availability of data for stakeholders.
● Document data sources, ETL processes, transformations, and report logic to maintain clear data lineage.
● Conduct regular data audits for accuracy and integrity.
● Participate in special analytics and engineering projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, or a related field.
● 1-3 years of relevant experience in data analysis and engineering.
● Proficient in Python, SQL, Tableau, and Excel.
● Familiarity with AWS services, especially Redshift and AWS Glue.
● Ability to quickly learn and adapt to emerging tools and technologies.
● Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
● Strong curiosity, work ethic, and proactive attitude.
● Hands-on experience with machine learning models for predictive analytics (preferred).
● Experience with designing and executing A/B tests and experimental frameworks (preferred).
● Experience or interest in cannabis or manufacturing industries (preferred).
The hiring range for this position in California is $80,000 and $100,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
