Job Description
Waystar is looking for a Data Operations Analyst to join our Payment Operations team, who's team mission is to ingest, render and produce all patient communications and payments. In this role you will ensure the integrity of Waystar's communication and payment products. The position includes review of data curation, including research and troubleshooting when data integrity issues appear in the file transfers and formatting data files for processing. A strong technical aptitude and background in data is required for this role, including familiarity with best practices for data hygiene.

What you'll be doing:
The Data Operations Analysts maintains a dashboard of file deliveries to ensure the daily service level agreement is fulfilled.
File Integrity
- Ensure the appropriate transfer of all data files to Waystar from customers through approved secure methods. Investigate and resolve all assigned issues reported via work queues, provider reported issues and patient reported issues in a timely manner.
- Assure the data and file quality and integrity of the Waystar Communications Product Suite by resolving identified problems. Performs necessary functions to ensure the files successfully produce patient communications as expected.
- Investigate parsing issues for files that are not automatically processed and resolve the file issue or reach out directly to the client directly to correct and resend updated files.
- Review parsing issues that may be related to code fixes or changes and escalate to the Synth engineering team. Ensure end-to-end tracking of the issue from issue discovery to code resolution to close our identified issues.
- Triage and tag files that are sent for work "in-progress / pre-go-live"
- Collaborates with Customer Support and Customer Success departments to report and resolve issues as necessary. Ensures all documentation corrections and revisions are made in accordance with Patientco policies.
- Identify system level errors in ingest process (e.g. SFTP outage, files picked up 2x, etc.) and escalate to Synth and Site Reliability & Security teams
- Ensure the appropriate transfer and completion of all data files from Patientco to print vendor, Datamatx, and e-communications vendors, Twilio and SendGrid.
- Review all Print Batches flagged for additional review
- Investigate and track til resolution any file issues that prevent full processing.
- Ensure all NCOA files and file transfers from communications vendors are ingested properly by Waystar
- Collaborates with Operations and Support Engineering departments to report and resolve issues as necessary. Ensures all documentation corrections and revisions are made in accordance with Waystar policies.
Data Integrity and Statement Review
- Investigate data integrity issues that cause file failures preventing automatic processing and resolve the data issue directly or reach out to the client to correct and resend updated files.
- Reprocess the corrected client files after issues have been resolved through investigation
- Review and approve data feeds flagged for statement review.
- Send escalated statement review items to the customer for final review.
- Reject feed and have clients send new files
- Review feed runs for automated runs that are selected for additional review and accept/reject
What we're looking for:
- Bachelor's degree strongly desired
- 3+ years experience in data management and/or revenue analysis
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, must be able to confidently communicate with peers, leaders and clients
- Flexible workstyle - able to work collaboratively in a team environment
