About the Role
The Demand Planner - APACΒ will be responsible for SKU level forecasting for a Brand and Business category focusing on the dedicated channel (affiliate, distributor, domestic, direct to consumer, retailers) and a specific Brand (Buxom, Bare Minerals, or Laura Mercier). The Demand Planner will be expert in creating and executing the monthly item level sell-in forecasts in IBP (planning tool) as part of the monthly demand/S&OP cycle (factoring in sales trend, cannibalization, promotions, events, channel inventory, distribution changes, etc.). In addition to IBP, the Demand Planner will be an expert in Excel with the ability to perform the above forecasting activities in Excel if required.
The Demand Planner will be accountable to maintain the forecasting process by collaborating and aligning with cross-functional partners within the respective Brand commercial organization, supply chain and with key retail / distributor partners.
The Demand Planner will support the data analytics intelligence and the ad hoc reporting and processes as needed. This includes preparing all analyses, effectively communicating forecast changes and recommendations, and building relationships with respective teams.
The Demand Planner leads the forecast process, methodologies and drives higher forecast accuracy to optimize supply chain planning.
Primary Responsibilities
- Item level forecasting for brand / channel portfolio comprising finished goods and point-of-sale-material SKUs on Core SKUs
- Assist in analyzing new launch planning to support New Product forecast consensus
- Collaborate with channels and account executives to gain alignment (units and $) with forecasts and specific Promotion / events programs.
- Participate in monthly alignment meetings with sales, marketing and finance teams to ensure reconciliation of demand plan to business needs and financial plans in Core, Promotion and New Product SKUs.
- Communicate the recommended forecast changes in preparation for monthly alignment meetings and pre-consensus
- Ad hoc reporting creation and analysis to maximize forecast accuracy and achieve business objectives

- Forecast accuracy for core, promotional and launch (1-month WMAPE lag 4)
- Alignment of demand plan vs financial plan
- Master data accuracy
Qualifications & Competencies
- Advanced MS Excel skills: demonstrated ability to quickly manipulate large raw data sets to produce reporting that is intuitive and easy to read/understand, Advanced formulas and experience with pivot tables required
- Advanced MS Power Point skills: demonstrated ability to summarize analysis into slides appropriate for distribution across the organization/management
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics clearly and concisely to peers and senior leadership
- Attention to detail and accuracy on multiple projects under time pressure
- Highly analytical and extremely self-motivated with critical thinking mindset
- Ability to quickly adapt in a highly collaborative environment, a team player, fit with brands and culture
- Familiarity with enterprise forecasting systems and tools (i.e. Blue Yonder, Cognos, SAP IBP, etc.)
- Min of 3 yearsβ experience in demand planning (beauty or CPG preferred), relevant data analysis, business planning, sales/client facing, and supply chain experience a PLUS
- 4-year bachelor's degree required: major in business, finance, supply chain, or related field preferred
- IBF or APICS certification a plus
