Director of Partnerships

Tecovas is the first direct-to-consumer western brand, founded with the simple goal of making the world’s best western boots, apparel and leather goods - and selling them at a fair price. We are a brand revolutionizing a category and welcoming first-time boot buyers and western enthusiasts alike. 

Tecovas is looking for a Director of Partnerships to lead PR/media relations, brand and celebrity engagements, as well as influencer marketing. Joining the marketing leadership team and reporting directly to the CMO, you will build, vet, and create connection between likeminded brand partners, Tecovas, and our customers. You will create a pro-active partnerships strategy across multiple mediums to amplify the brand and help us trailblaze Western culture.

This position is ideally based out of Austin, TX but will have the ability to work from home and in-office.

What you’ll do:

• Contribute to long-range and annual strategic marketing planning, integrating your partnerships approach into our brand vision
• Manage an outside PR agency relationship to leverage business, product, and brand news to achieve widespread brand awareness. In addition, ensure other marketing initiatives are newsworthy and inherently build buzz.
• Negotiate collaborations with celebrities, musicians, athletes, and like-minded brands at the forefront of Western and Western-adjacent culture
• Create an influencer strategy and network to help Tecovas reach new customers and new markets
• Work directly with our product development team to create buzzworthy and value-add collaborations
• Oversee an annual budget, all partnership contracts, and partner deliverables
• Integrate partnership opportunities across all other marketing efforts, with a dedicated eye on social, retail, and events
• Celebrate successes and tell partner stories throughout the org, while also contributing to business and brand health reporting
• Lead and manage a successful team that builds out this new function for the Tecovas brand

Experience we’re looking for:

• 5+ yrs experience in PR, partnerships, entertainment, or influencer marketing
• Experience leading and managing 2+ direct reports
• Direct experience pitching media and garnering press interest is a plus!
• Bringing a family of connections and having roots in Western is an added bonus!

About Us:

Tecovas was born out of a love for cowboy boots, their time-honored craftsmanship, rich materials that last, and traditional styling that always looks good. Each pair of Tecovas boots is crafted by hand in over 200 steps. It’s not the easiest or cheapest method, but we’re committed to classic construction techniques that stand the test of time. With 19 retail stores (and counting) across the Austin, Dallas and Southeast regions, we’re bringing western goods into new frontiers and aim to be the most welcoming brand in western.
