Cabinet Maker (SPOON Events LV)
Full time, Nonexempt, Hourly position, eligible for OT after 40 hours in work week
Reports to: LV Operations Manager

Position Summary
Primary responsibilities of this position include a qualified Exhibitor Cabinet Maker to cut, fabricate and install wooden and other structures according to specifications. This position will entail working in a facility shop setting to produce steady and functional infrastructure and products for tradeshows. This cabinet maker will be an individual with great dexterity and an eye for detail. The ideal candidate will have good knowledge of wood properties and other carpentry materials and tools. Working with little supervision while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting trade show structures and products in a timely manner. This person will be able to work well with other Spoon team members to execute production in a cost and time-effective manner, working with internal and external creative resources. The ideal Exhibitor Cabinet Maker will have trade show and exhibitor expertise to produce projects and tactics that support the client and SPOON.
Key Responsibilities
Tasks include
• Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to fully grasp requirements.
• Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
• Cut, shape and smooth lumber and other material (e.g., fiberglass) according to measurements
• Build window frames and doors
• Formica, laminating, cabinet construction, wall panels
• Cut and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other exhibit install items where designates
• Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance
• Build panel structures
• Must be proficient with table saw, routers and laminating cabinets
Position Requirements
• Proven experience as cabinet maker
• Hands on experience working with carpentry materials
• Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction
• Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and tools
• Willingness to always follow safety guidelines
• Good understanding of English
• Good understanding of basic math
• Good physical condition and endurance
• High school diploma, successful completion of a carpentry apprenticeship program is required
• Exceptional detail in follow up with creative problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle a fast pace working environment with good time management skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Creates a courteous, friendly, professional work environment.
• Ability to quickly evaluate alternatives and decide on a plan of action.
• Working knowledge of exhibit carpentry, trade shows and production.
