Location: This position will work in a hybrid model with both work from home (remote) days, as well as on-site days at the West Des Moines, IA office each week. Zirous offers a flexible schedule so that you can work to meet Zirous needs and your personal needs.

Employment Type: this position has the flexibility to start with part-time hours or in a 1099/contract position with the potential to convert to a full-time employment opportunity.

What you'd be doing:

• Conceptualize, iterate, and create sophisticated design and content (2D, 3D, motion graphics, illustrations, etc.) for Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), Web, and other experiences for customers.
• Support the design development and production phases of projects, specifically for extended reality and digital projects as a whole.
• Work closely with other team members to accomplish company, client and personal goals.

• Strong background in visual design, or other design related fields.
• Bachelor's degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc.), Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proficient with industry-standard design tools. (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Procreate, Figma)
• Have a strong grasp of the creative process; from ideation through implementation.
• 2+ Years of visual design experience. 
• 2 - 5 years of experience in digital media. 
• Portfolio demonstrating command of visual design, with an understanding of typography, color theory, and visual storytelling.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent communication skills, analytical ability, good judgment and the ability to work effectively with clients and internal staff.

Preferred Experience:

• Ability to understand the basics principles of programming to be able to work with Experience Engineers.
• Experience with 3D softwares and workflows. (e.g., Blender, Cinema4D, Maya, Substance Painter)
• Experience with Game engines and other 3D development tools (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine, 3js, R3F)
