Our location in Richmond, VA currently has an opportunity for a Forensic Scientist, First Reviewer (Toxicology). In this role, for a First Reviewer as defined by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration) in the Richmond SAMHSA-certified laboratory of Alere Toxicology Services, Inc. The individual filling this position will be responsible for analysis, review and interpretation of analytical data in accordance with the SAMHSA mandatory guidelines and other regulatory organizations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Final review of analytical data
- Operation of the Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometers and initial review of data.
- Extraction of samples
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required
- BS degree in a science or equivalent relevant field
Preferred
- Ability to understand analytical techniques and procedures.
- Ability to understand laboratory instrumentation
- Ability to understand certification requirements for SAMHSA, CAP (College of American Pathologists), and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Ability to understand the function of a LIS (Laboratory Information System) and other laboratory computer systems.
- Be able to lift and/or move 25 pounds
- Have full body movement
- Excellent math and reasoning ability to develop and communicate laboratory procedures and reports
