Date posted:August 25, 2025 Job Type:Full-time Pay:$19.00 - $20.00 per hour Job Description Knight Security is seeking a Security Officer for a front desk position located in Long Island City, NY. This is a full-time position for Monday - Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm (times may vary as per the client's request so flexibility is required). Key Responsibilities: • Protect the employees, visitors, and clients through diligent observation, accurate reporting, and or documenting. • Professionally and respectfully greet all visitors entering and leaving the building. Provide directions to visitors as requested. • Maintain access control (flow of traffic) ensuring visitors are identified, sign-in properly, and directed to the waiting area to meet the assigned client representative (as required). A visitors list will be provided if the site is expecting visitors other than clients for appointments. • Security must contact management before dealing with any issue concerning a person or group of people. • Detect and or prevent fires, vandalism, theft, or infractions of the rules. • Maintain assigned posts throughout the facility until properly relieved. • Security must completely log in any infractions into the provided logbook. • Ensure that all visitors have left the building and the lights & heat/AC are turned off (at the end of the shift. • The Security Officer must pay special attention to frequent visitors, disruptive visitors, and those who are prohibited into the building. • Additional protocols may be provided upon hire (as applicable). Qualifications: • Valid NY State Security Guard License • High School diploma or equivalent • Two (2) years of security experience (preferred) Competencies: • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) • Ability to be detail oriented • Customer service oriented • Adequately solve problems, adapt, and adjust as needed Physical Requirements: • Ability to sit for long periods of time • Ability to utilize full range of motion in arms, torso, and legs (as applicable) • Ability to adequately function in vision, hearing, and touch Work Environment: • This is an onsite location in Long Island City, NY 11101 Benefits: • Paid time off • Referral program • 8-hour shift • Day shift • Monday to Friday (closed on holidays unless otherwise specified) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour Benefits: • Paid time off Work Location: In person
