This is a grant-funded position contingent upon the renewal of the grant. Initial funding is for five years.
The Grant Accountant supports learning by providing accounting and analytical support for grant-related activities supported by the Business Office. The Grant Accountant assists with all business office transactions related to the School’s grant activities including but not limited to payroll, accounts payable, general ledger transactions, and reporting. Periodic support of other business office activities is also provided by this position, as assigned.

Essential Job Functions:
• Review of all grant-related transactions to ensure compliance with grantor stipulations and budget parameters.
• Preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with preparation of financial statements and schedules for internal and external reporting for each grant.
• Assist with preparation of budget proposals and approved budget entries.
• Assist with preparation of reconciliations and documentation for annual external audit.
• Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance, and internal policies and procedures.
• Other duties, both grant-related and non-grant-related, as assigned.
Essential Job Requirements:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 2-5 years of accounting/general ledger experience.
Experience:
• Public accounting audit experience.
• Experience with complex ERP systems.
• Experience working in higher education and/or other not-for-profit settings.
Skills:
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.
• Able to maintain strong internal control environment, including supporting documentation and authorizations.
• Strong analytical skills as required for account analysis and reconciliation.
• Expertise using Microsoft Excel for further data analysis.
• Able to handle multiple priorities and effectively meet deadlines as required.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to interact verbally in person, over telephone, and via various media.
• Ability to move about campus and other locations.
• Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
