Shift Days and Hours: Monday - Friday 3pm - 11:30pm

The HIM Specialist is responsible for the facilities. health record integrity associated with the following HIM processes record analysis, deficiency monitoring, delinquency process, releasing patient information, master patient index and/or registry maintenance. The HIM Specialist role is essential to assist with the completion of the Legal Medical Record for the health ministry for the purposes of treatment, continuity of care, reimbursement, regulatory compliance, and legal need's. The successful candidate must have high attention to detail and strong data entry skills.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or Equivalent, Prefer associate degree, rudimentary life science education to include medical terminology.
• Experience in an office environment, 1 -2 years in a health care setting or hospital is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Office, PowerPoint, cloud and web based functionality.
• Analytical and critical thinking, exceptional communication skills and highly organizational skills to manage variable responsibilities.

Physical Requirements:

• See, read, and/or operate computers, telephones, office equipment, documents, labels, including manipulating paper requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.
• Remain sitting, standing, or walking for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.
• Frequent interactions with associates, patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require associate to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information banding patients, etc.
