Immersive Audio Design Intern

THE POSITION

The Immersive Audio Design Intern is a collaborative position who will lead the effort to create truly awe-inspiring, immersive audio experiences. You will be involved and responsible for research, design, production, and optimization of all things sound for multiple types of capsules and installations.

This is a part time position with potential to convert to a full time position.

Los Angeles, CA or Salt Lake City, UT - Hybrid remote

REPORTS TO:

Creative Director, Games & Experiences

Program Dates:  Interns will work up to 240 hours between 1/23/2023 to 04/28/23

THE PERSON:

The ideal candidate is a highly creative individual with the ultimate ear for aural experiences, an acute attention to detail, and a high level of technical expertise. This person will have knowledge using tools such as Unreal Engine, Avid ProTools, Nuendo, AudioKentic Wwise, fmod, and/or Reaper. We are looking for candidates who has experience working in various formats (and the pros/cons for each of them), education or professional experience as an audio designer, engineer, and or programmer. Multiplatform experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work closely within the Interactive team to design and produce original audio content that defines experiences, games, and immersion and elevates the Cosm experience.
• Collaborate with design, product, and engineering teams to provide input and direction to achieve interactive and immersive sound design, effects, voice, and music.
• Implement audio assets using UE5 and WWise, fmod, or similar
• Manage and lead all external audio resources, VO, and Foley, when necessary

Qualifications:

• Knowledge in use of a D.A.W. such as Nuendo, ProTools, or Reaper to produce and edit audio files.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive demeanor.
• Focus on delivering the highest quality in every aspect of audio.
• Experience in working with a cross-functional, distributed team, agile methodologies as plus
• A digital portfolio of personal, professional, and academic projects showing work-in-progress and final results. The portfolio should have clear notation of how/what you specifically contributed to the project, if within a group/team production.
• Passion for music and composition, a strong plus
• Passion for immersive, gaming, sports, or eSports is a plus
