What You'll Get to Do:
The Business Analyst will serve as the liaison between the business functions and the IT Enterprise Support Services team to facilitate communication and determine software objectives that align with stated and understood business needs. In this role, you will identify, define, and document business processes and software/integration requirements, test cases, etcCandidate must have an inquisitive nature, a strong desire to learn new applications and understand current and future technology capabilities.
The position will report to the Director of Enterprise Support Services and work closely with the Enterprise Business Systems teams that provide application support for the functional areas of Accounting and Finance, Procurement, HR, Business Development and Contracts, etc.
More About the Role:
- Understanding of relevant business areas to be able to build high-quality requirements and recommend solutions.
- Use a variety of techniques to understand business requirements, such as interviews, workshops, surveys, site visits, and storyboards.
- Engage business customers throughout product/technology life cycle from marketing of services/products, demand and planning processes, to delivery and support of product/services.
- Shape business requirements by making recommendations and suggesting proposed solutions.
- Understand technical options, limitations, costs, and risks. Communicate tradeoffs to business stakeholders and work with them to shape requirements accordingly.
- Translate conceptual user requirements into clear, detailed functional requirements.
- Work with business and delivery teams to prioritize requirements.
- Help resolve competing priorities between stakeholder groups by facilitating stakeholder discussions and escalate issues where appropriate.
- Manage requirements scoping throughout the delivery process.
- Create artifacts as appropriate, including business case documentation, scope documentation, integration diagrams and process flows.
- Support delivery teams as they develop/implement, test, and deploy solutions.
- Review delivery team output to ensure requirements are correctly interpreted; define and execute test cases.
- Document current processes and models to understand inefficiencies or gaps.
- Identify and assist in prioritizing opportunities to streamline business processes.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Business, or applicable field.
- 5+ years of experience in a Business Analyst role supporting Business Applications.
- Excellent communicator, verbal and written.
- Experience with IT service delivery development methodologies, procedures, principles, and practices.
- Experience supporting applications.
- Ability to use creative skills and innovative thinking to solve problems with logical solutions, multi-task and make fact-based decisions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Works independently with general supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Certification as Project Management Professional (PMP).
- ITIL v3 or ITIL 4 Certification.
- Working knowledge of service delivery frameworks and methodologies including - Agile, PMBOK, ITIL, etc.
- Experience with PowerBI and SQL
