The IT Network Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure reliable connectivity and performance. This role requires foundational networking knowledge hands-on experience with LAN/WAN technologies and the ability to provide operational support for switching routing and firewall systems. The ideal candidate will assist in troubleshooting configuration and monitoring of network components in a dynamic enterprise environment.
In this role you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers) where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.
- Provide network support for LAN/WAN environments ensuring stability and performance.
- Assist in configuring and maintaining Switching/Routing OR Firewall devices.
- Monitor network health and troubleshoot connectivity issues promptly.
- Support implementation of network changes and upgrades under guidance from senior engineers.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with IT teams to resolve network-related incidents and service requests.
- Ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
- 1–5 years of experience in network engineering or network support roles.
- Strong understanding of foundational networking concepts (TCP/IP VLANs subnets).
- Hands-on experience with LAN/WAN technologies.
- Familiarity with Switching/Routing OR Firewall devices (Cisco Palo Alto etc.).
- CCNA certification (or actively pursuing).
- Basic troubleshooting skills and experience with network monitoring tools.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Exposure to network security principles and firewall policies.
- Experience with VPNs and remote access solutions.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS Azure) and hybrid environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and ticketing systems.
- Interest in pursuing advanced certifications (CCNP etc.).
