Job Description
Team Rubicon’s Brand and Communication Department is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer. The Junior Graphic Designer will support the development of top-notch creative for our stakeholders, serving volunteer communications leaders across the country, fulfilling request from TR’s partners, and designing integrated marketing campaigns and collateral. This will require the ability to capture and push TR’s visual identity forward to meet the needs of a rapidly growing international humanitarian organization. The Junior Graphic Designer will be responsible for serving as a creative resource for the brand and communications team and partner with colleagues from across the organization.
Every day will be a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities for an organization that is quickly becoming a household name in disaster response. This position reports to TR’s Senior Graphic Designer and is based out of TR’s National Headquarters in Los Angeles, CA.
Duties:
- Create original designs for several mediums, including but not limited to print, digital, large-scale events, out of home, and apparel
- Use graphic design skills, imagination, and invention to create compelling designs across brand initiatives
- Serve as an ambassador to our staff on all matters related to brand, design, creative, and related skills. Work to integrate and advise on feedback received.
- Maintain clean assets that can easily be shared with other designers
- Assist the team in refreshing and extending brand standards and design templates
- Ensure all projects are delivered on deadline, and in line with Team Rubicon’s brand vision
- Ensure proper handover of art files to vendors and internal departments
- Develop and participate in creative concepting and execution across a wide range of work from: online/offline fundraising, brand awareness, volunteer recruitment, training courses, and events
Experience and Background:
- 2-3 years of professional experience working in a creative environment (e.g., ad agency, in-house creative team, startup marketing)
- A strong track record of building cross functional relationships and working in collaborative environments
- Strong design skills including typography, layout, photo editing and compositing
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software (e.g., Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and presentation software (PPT, Keynote)
- Familiarity with team-based project management software (e.g., Asana) and web software (e.g. WordPress) a bonus
- Preferred education: Bachelor's degree in Art, Design, Graphic Design, Fine Arts
Special Requirements:
- This is a full time, in-office position based out of Los Angeles, CA and provides a flexible & non-traditional work schedule (relocation expenses not provided)

- $62,400 - $63,000 per year
