About the Role

ABI Growth is seeking a law student intern to assist with legal projects within BEES, its B2B e-commerce business.  Interns will work on a broad range of projects across different substantive areas of the law and will have the opportunity to work with the local legal teams in the 19 countries where BEES is operating. 

Internship hours are flexible, but we ask for a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week.  Internships are paid. 

This position is located in the BEES global headquarters in Midtown Manhattan, with the potential for some remote work as needed.  Interns must be at least 21 years of age.

Job Description/Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the ABI Growth Global Legal Directors on ongoing legal projects across BEES, including contract review, legal research, and product counseling for new BEES products and features.
• Manage incoming questions and requests to the legal team, conduct preliminary fact-finding, and draft preliminary legal analyses/responses. 
• Provide broad-ranging legal support to teams across BEES, including relating to SaaS and licensing transactions, strategic commercial relationships, data monetization strategies, antitrust, data privacy projects, and product counseling. 
• Partner with the BEES commercial and engineering teams to understand their goals and challenges, in order to provide tailored and practical legal advice.
• Provide legal support on BEES’s metaverse, NFT, and web3 projects. 
• Liaise with the local BEES legal teams and serve as a center of expertise on tech-focused legal issues.
• Identify and anticipate complex and emerging legal, corporate affairs, and reputational issues
• Ensure new products/features and/or services provided through our digital platform comply with law and industry best practices.
• Draft and negotiate contracts.

Job Qualifications

• Current law student located in the New York area.
• Bachelor's degree and currently enrolled at an ABA-accredited law school, with strong academic credentials.
• Ability and desire to work on a broad range of legal issues.
• Desire to help build the legal function from the ground up. 
• Ability to work independently and in a start-up environment, which is fast-paced and tech-driven.
• Practical legal approach, focused on enabling the business strategy.
• Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.
