The Luxury Retreat Chef: The Luxury Retreat Chef at 40 Years of Zen plays a vital role in creating a transformative retreat dining experience for high-profile clients engaged in intensive neuroscience and inner-work programming. This role requires not only exceptional culinary skills but also adaptability, discretion, and a deep respect for wellness-oriented dining. The Chef is responsible for designing, preparing, and presenting meals that align with the Bulletproof Diet & Roadmap, honor a wide range of client dietary needs, and reflect the standards of a world-class luxury retreat. You Will: • Design and execute seasonal, health-forward menus fully aligned with the Bulletproof Diet & Roadmap, prioritizing approved oils, vegetables, proteins, and cooking methods. • Prepare meals that meet a wide range of dietary needs while remaining within the Bulletproof framework. • Source only the highest-quality ingredients, with an emphasis on fresh, local, and seasonal produce; highlight clean proteins, healthy fats, nutrient-dense vegetables, limited fruit, and minimal, approved carbohydrates. • Lead the kitchen with a balance of creativity, precision, and discipline, ensuring every meal reflects both the standards of a world-class luxury retreat and the scientific integrity of the Bulletproof philosophy. • Collaborate closely with the Program and Facilitation Manager to align menus with the retreat’s focus on cognitive optimization, emotional well-being, and client transformation. • Plan seasonal or monthly menus, along with weekly menu adjustments based on dietary restrictions and sensitivities. • Deliver meals with precision timing, nutritional accuracy, and elevated presentation, ensuring seamless integration into daily client schedules and therapeutic programming. • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including inventory management, food safety, compliance, cleanliness, and staff coordination. • Adjust menus dynamically in response to client feedback and evolving dietary considerations, while maintaining adherence to the Roadmap. • Uphold an environment of warmth, discretion, and professionalism, honoring the privacy and comfort of high-profile clientele. • Continuously innovate within the Bulletproof framework, bringing fresh ideas for dishes, plating, and nutrition-forward experiences that delight, nourish, and inspire guests. You'll Have: • Culinary Expertise: Proven experience in fine dining, luxury hospitality, or private chef settings; Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience. • Nutrition & Special Diets: Good understanding of nutrition and extensive experience preparing meals for varied dietary needs, including gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, soy-free, keto, carnivore, and allergen-sensitive. • Bulletproof Framework: Familiarity with or willingness to train in the Bulletproof Diet & Roadmap, consistently creating meals within its principles. • Ingredient Sourcing: Demonstrated ability to source the highest-quality ingredients, with emphasis on fresh, local, seasonal produce, clean proteins, and healthy fats. • Presentation & Plating: Keen eye for detail and aesthetics; ability to create beautiful family-style and buffet-style meals that feature vibrant colors, variety, and balance. • Adaptability & Composure: Ability to remain calm, flexible, and solution-oriented when adapting to shifting schedules, client feedback, or evolving dietary needs. • Organization & Planning: Excellent organizational and time management skills, including meal planning one week in advance and submitting menus for review to ensure client safety and alignment. • Collaboration & Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to partner effectively with the Program and Facilitation Manager. • Client Service & Professionalism: Exceptional client service skills, with discretion and professionalism when working with high-profile clientele. • Innovation & Passion: Genuine passion for wellness, nutrition, and continuous culinary innovation, bringing creativity and fresh ideas to enhance the retreat dining experience. Compensation: Based on this position and the requirements above we are offering an annual salary range of $95,000 - $105,000. Hours of Work & Working Conditions: The Luxury Retreat Chef typically works the following schedule: Monday 11am-7pm Tuesday 11am-7pm Wednesday 11am-7pm Thursday 11am-7pm Friday 11am-5pm The Chef must be comfortable working in a dynamic retreat environment, where client schedules can shift due to program flow. Maintaining a calm, professional presence under changing conditions is essential. Strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards is always required. The Luxury Retreat Chef will work primarily in the open retreat kitchen and dining areas, also near clients and staff. Tasks involve extended periods of standing, walking, and active food preparation, with regular movement between kitchen and service spaces. The role requires frequent exposure to hot and cold temperatures, sharp utensils, and commercial kitchen equipment.
