Machine Learning Manager - Ads Auto-Bidding

The Auto-Bidding team is responsible for a central part of the ads delivery system that automates bidding taking into account advertiser objectives delivers advertisers budgets smoothly and completely throughout the day. As the Engineering Manager for the Auto-Bidding team you will lead a team of ML engineers to develop large-scale realtime systems that optimizes bids and maximizes advertiser value.

Responsibilities:

• Set Technical Vision & Strategy: Define and execute the roadmap for the Auto-Bidding team—balancing innovation efficiency and business impact.

• Develop & Optimize Auto-bidding Solutions: Oversee the design implementation and maintenance of high-performance Auto-Bidding algorithms and advertiser-facing products like Target CPA to achieve optimal campaign performance.

• Machine Learning & Control Systems: Prior experience with control systems PID controllers multi-armed bandits reinforcement learning algorithms or bid/pricing optimization systems.

• Marketplace Expertise: Proficiency in designing new bidding optimization products and algorithms as well as conducting rigorous A/B experiments to evaluate business impact and the ability to understand marketplace impact of bidding changes.

• Scalable Systems & Data Pipelines: Expertise in architecting large-scale serving systems data processing pipelines and real-time processing.

• Mentor & Grow Your Team: Recruit mentor and retain top talent fostering a collaborative inclusive and high-performing culture.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product Managers Data Scientists and other Engineering teams to align strategies with product requirements and KPIs.

• Continuous Improvement: Advocate for model quality system reliability and operational excellence. Identify opportunities to improve engineer velocity and overall performance.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of engineering management experience leading ML or related technical teams.

• 6+ years of industry experience with large-scale ML ideally in ads or marketplace optimization.

• 4+ years of hands-on expertise building ML systems.

• Experience with marketplace optimization experimentation and metric design data analysis.
