• NYC HOUSING AUTHORITY Posted On:07/09/2025 • Full-Time Location BRONX • Exam May Be Required Department Bronx Property Management Salary Range: $45.35 – $45.35 Job Description Under direct supervision, assist Bricklayers in the preparation and finishing of cement, concrete, brick, tile and other masonry work to grade and contour; performs related work. Examples of typical tasks include: 1. Serve mortar, stone, tile, refractory concrete and other materials to Bricklayers. 2. Lay out tools and equipment for starting jobs. 3. Clean working areas, machines, tools, scaffolds and other related equipment. 4. Mix cement, concrete and mortar. 5. Operate power driven machines and tools. 6. Operate a motor vehicle to transport tools, materials and personnel to construction sites. NOTE: Travel to Developments within assigned neighborhood is a requirement, with the frequency determined by the Neighborhood Administrator. This position will cover Bronx Neighborhood 07, which includes Claremont Rehab Consolidated, Forest Consolidation, Highbridge and Sedgwick. NOTE: IF THIS APPOINTMENT IS MADE ON A PROVISIONAL BASIS PURSUANT TO 65 OF THE NYS CIVIL SERVICE LAW, NO TENURE OR PERMANENCE ACCRUES TO AN INCUMBENT IN THIS POSITION BY VIRTUE OF SUCH APPOINTMENT. Three years of full-time satisfactory mechanical experience as a mason's helper; or 2. At least one and one-half years of experience as described in "1" above, and sufficient training of a relevant nature acquired in an approved trade, vocational or technical high school to make up the equivalent of three years of acceptable experience. Six months of acceptable experience will be credited for each year of training in an approved trade, vocational or technical high school. License Requirement A motor vehicle driver license valid in the State of New York.
