BronxWorks, Inc., a $100MM non-profit organization, is seeking a Senior Accounts Payable Accountant to join a fast-paced finance department. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Senior AP Accountant primary responsibilities will be to work closely with the Supervisor regarding the day-to-day operations and activities of the accounts payable unit. The successful candidate must have the ability to work independently as well as be an integral member of the entire finance team. RESPONSIBILITIES Primary responsibilities of the Senior Accounts Payable Accountant will include but not limited to: β€’ Involved in the day-to-day processes of the accounts payable unit to ensure accurate and timely payments of vendor invoices and expense vouchers β€’ Works closely and communicates regularly with suppliers, vendors, other department staff and management to resolve pending issues – unpaid invoices, duplicate billings, missing support documentation etc. β€’ Analyze vendors’ accounts and obtain statements to ensure all invoices billed are processed and paid β€’ Contact vendors to resolve discrepancies regarding finance charges, late fees and sales tax β€’ Process employee reimbursements in Intacct and ADP β€’ Prepare accounts payable aging reports for review by Assistant Controller or Controller β€’ Assist in the Year end 1099 process β€’ Build solid relationships across all units/programs at various levels and communicate with program staff in a timely manner β€’ Play leading role for any new AP improvements projects β€’ Assist in financial audit activities of contracts/programs and grants in conjunction with the Assistant Controller and Controller β€’ Assist in annual independent audit by preparing schedules and other information as directed by Controller β€’ Perform other duties as necessary and assigned by Assistant Controller, Controller or CFO REQUIREMENTS β€’ Strong understanding of AP processes and practices β€’ Knowledge and experience with non-profit and fund accounting, a plus β€’ Knowledge and experience with Intaact accounting software and Nexonia, a BIG plus β€’ Proficiency in computerized accounting systems and Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel, Outlook and Word) β€’ Must have a strong interpersonal and communication skills - verbal and written; and work effectively with personnel at all levels β€’ Must be organized, detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism. β€’ Supervisory experience, a plus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS β€’ Ability to use computer for prolonged periods. β€’ Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time. β€’ Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents. β€’ Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
