What makes someone choose one company over another? Pay, Benefits, Training, Work Satisfaction, Culture? What if you can have it all! At G2 Ops we have extremely competitive pay and benefits and that is not even the best part. Our culture is what sets us apart from other companies. Here, you will not be another payroll number or a cog in the machine. We provide great value to our customers by working as a team and ensuring every member is set up for success. Our team approach allows for each member to not only provide value with their expertise but also gives them the opportunity to cross train in other areas they have interest in.

Let's talk salary. The salary range for this position is $65,000-$90,000 and is based on what we are asking you to do, and your qualifications. We also offer a competitive benefits package and have fringe benefits offered throughout the year. The benefits have an estimated value of approximately $21,000 annually. With company standard annual performance reviews and achievement awards for recognition in place, your performance will be rewarded and recognized, we promise!

So, you want to work from home? Let's be honest, remote work is not always all it's cut out to be. At G2 Ops, we offer a flexible schedule to meet the needs of our employees and customers. Due to the classification level of the projects we support, we are not able to offer fully remote opportunities at this time. As a Defense Contractor, we are frequently working with sensitive material, and therefore, we need to ensure where you access your work is secure. You will have a shiny desk at the G2 Ops office, plus the opportunity to work at a military site directly with our customers (this is a good thing!). We do allow teleworking with prior approval, but as an engineer supporting the DoD, certain positions will be required to work at a military site as well. Here's the thing, we have worked very hard to create an awesome culture where our employees get to come to a collaborative, exciting office environment and we want you to join the fun!

Still not convinced?  Allow us to elaborate. For this opportunity, we are seeking a highly motivated, technology-focused, team-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team. We are seeking an independent thinker with a strong appetite for learning who can contribute quickly to our teams’ success. G2 Ops has a strong team culture and desire engineers who possess excellent communication skills and enjoy collaborating amongst a team with diverse skill sets. We need someone who is motivated to succeed and has sound Systems Engineering knowledge.

This exciting position will support Common Submarine (CS) Information Support Plan (ISP) development and maintenance efforts while automating engineering development within the Naval Undersea Division. The work currently encompasses using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) to modernize capabilities for the Navy’s Undersea Systems. Our team is responsible for transforming our customers’ engineering teams to using MBSE SySML models, virtualization platforms, and digital twins operating in secure cloud environments to build, update, and maintain these important systems. You will support decomposition and allocation of top-level requirements to lower lever requirement documents.

What does this mean to you? This is an exciting time to be part of a team that’s impacting how engineering is being performed on a day-to-day basis. We’re looking for an MBSE expert with a penchant for automation to help us to continue to set the industry standard for how MBSE is utilized to accelerate development. We seek forward leaning technologists who strive not only to get the most out of Cameo System Modeler, Kubernetes, Jira, Monte Carlo Simulation tools, MatLab, DOORs, Cassandra, Github, and a host of other leading-edge engineering and development tools, but also integrate them together for streamlined and secure development. We’re looking for a leader to take on tough problems and build complex, highly sophisticated systems.

We require a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (a technical degree in Computer Science, System Engineering, Information Systems is preferred) or additional applicable years of experience to be considered.

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience applying model-based systems and digital engineering procedures, processes, and methodologies/techniques
  • Experience with UML/SysML modeling languages and/or DoDAF/UAF frameworks
  • Experience with aspects of systems engineering such as requirements elicitation, analysis, derivation and traceability, functional analysis and allocation, WBS, trade studies, modeling and simulation, metrics, risk management, integration and test, verification and validation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, along with effective time and project management skills

Desired Skills:

  • This position requires a U.S. Government security clearance at the Secret level. We’ll help you get it if you don’t already have one
  • Experience with DoDAF requirements to support interoperability certification, testing, and RAFT analysis
  • Experience with Agile management/collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Experience with various model-based system-engineering tools - Cameo System Modeler, Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, etc.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology (IT), computer system infrastructure, data communication and network system, Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, and routing protocols
  • OMG-Certified SysML Professional (OCSMP) certification (Model User, Model Builder Fundamental, Model Builder Intermediate, Model Builder Advanced)
  • Security+ certification

To be successful in this role, you must be able to communicate clearly with stakeholders and engineering leadership teams to ensure requirements are clearly defined and Customer expectations are being met. The ability to analyze new and complex program-related problems and create innovative solutions that integrate schedule, technology, methodology, tools, and financial aspects are also critical components to this position.

Duties Include:

  • Participate in system requirements collection and reviews, as well as maintain requirements documentation over the life of the program
  • Identify potential system interface requirements
  • Review system engineering documentation to validate specifications are accurate and meet system needs
  • Produce and maintain system engineering models using modeling languages such as Unified Modeling Language (UML), Systems Modeling Language (SysML)
  • Produce artifacts to support customer objectives
  • Participate in project/program technical risk analysis and mitigation
  • Proven ability to work effectively and collaborate in a team environment.
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills

Lastly, as we are working for the DoD, we are beholden to some requirements. The ideal candidate would already possess an active DoD Secret Clearance, but we are willing to work with the right candidate to obtain.

Quick Note: We are seeking full-time employees; the continuation of outside employment shall not constitute a conflict with the Company’s interest, including performing work for a customer or competitor.

Congratulations, you made it all the way to the end of this job posting! We look forward to learning more about you!
