MDS Assessor

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate MDS Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the assessments and/or coordination of assessments of all residents and completion of MDS forms in accordance with State and Federal regulations and facility policies. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical documentation improvement, and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Responsibilities • Review the daily census. • Prepares Interim Schedules/ Significant Change For Medicaid And Medicare MDS Assessments Daily. • Conduct utilization reviews to assess the appropriateness of care provided and ensure compliance with managed care guidelines. • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients. • Utilize ICD-10 coding for accurate billing and documentation purposes. • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling patient information. • Performs other related duties. Skills • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and clinical practices. • Familiarity with managed care systems and utilization review processes. • Proficient in clinical documentation improvement techniques. • Ability to accurately use ICD-10 coding for documentation purposes. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
